Our first house!!!!

Yes, as it states I will be living in house. James and I are getting a house, which we are

very thankful for. At first we will just be renting the home, then we will be buying.

It’s three bedroom home, with basement, and fenced in yard. Needs little bit of decorating, but other then that

it is good home.

We move on Sunday this weekend, and hopefully we done on Monday.

So if you can’t reach me, thats why. Been very busy.

Decemeber

December! Oh December how you have come so quickly. Seeing busy streets, music, and the lights. Never ending sweets for everyones tummy’s, everyone helping one another. Events all over the place, Business’s as busy as the shoppers. Looking for the special gift for love ones, and something different. Time for family to come together once more, and to shine.  Overall the feeling is happy, for some it might not be so, for most it is good time.

So what makes Decemeber so different? Is it Santa? Snowmen? Lights everywhere? Could it be the candies/cookies that everyone seems to have? Or is it something more? Or something less?

Everyone knows its to celebrate jesus. I believe it serves another great purpose I only see now. This other purpose is one over looked sometimes. It’s to bring people together, friends, and family. Even if we are so busy, its important to make family/ friends important this time of year. I am thankful I saw most of the family I needed to see….. There were only few did not get to see.

For at any moment, it could be the last year to be with them. No matter the age its important to take every moment that you have to see them, to have memories. For thats whats important. Thats what last. Not toys, candies, cookies, lights, or even neat presents. Family truly does matter more.  My thoughts are with those who are having hard time. Hope that only next Christmas or new years they have better one. Holidays are time to share, to be there for one another.

Really must say I am thankful for Christmas, which I have never said before. Thankful to see those I don’t see all the time, only hope to have more days like the holidays to see them.

So Happy New year! Make every day count, thats what I will be working on this year. To see people who don’t get to see normally, to make every day matter just little more then last year. For thats what matters to me.

Reptiles don’t make good pets

This title might shock you coming from someone who has four lizards, tortoise, and turtle. However, its very true, I will explain in just moment, first don’t get reptile, only way I will take one is if people are throwing them out, even then I will not, I have my ears full of reptiles. No more is allowed in my home.

Couple reason for me stating this now, even though felt this way for long time. Ever since I have worked at three petstores seen so many people, not getting the right things, bring back dead reptiles, just get tiresome. Then people asking where they can take their reptiles to when they don’t want them. How little places will.For the sake of reptiles they should not be sold. People with very young children, should not have them in their house. Should only get them with lots of reach then decide if you want them. Some reptiles get very big, all require special lighting, all require special diets, all require lots of cleaning, reptiles are not cheap, so much more that I could tell you. Don’t get me wrong, I love my reptiles but I know that I have couple who have previous owners who did not care for them well, and I struggle with them because of what others have not done for their reptiles, such to small of cage, no lighting, not the right diet, and so on.

Right now I had ignana that is very sick, I am not sure he will make it.  Reptiles cost just as much as cats and dogs when it comes to vet cost, some charge extra for exotics. Not all vets are good with reptiles, so you have to research which vets you should take them to. Even that is not simple. so if you look for simple this is not it. Lizards, aquatic turtles, and snakes I think are the worse to keep. Snakes and Ignana, and monitors are the worse pets you could get. They all need lots of space, sometimes even whole room.

Now the ones that have not had previous owner are doing well, but they do not live the life they should as in the wild. Try to let them out in the summer to explore, run. Even this is not really that great. However, I know its better then what most owners would do, not saying they are bad, awful, just don’t do research before getting them,only listening to what sales person tells them, not all of them know what they are talking about, or really care. So by word is not good way to tell if you should get one. Really need to research for yourself and call ask vet who knows what they talking about.

If you have any questions let me know. Reptiles do have illness that can be spread to people, always wash hands after handling reptile, or anything that was touched by them. If you wash you should be safe. Don’t let young children play with them, unless you are watching very carefully.

Now as for my other reptiles they all doing well. Not eating well, I think due to winter time.
So hopefully in couple days they will start eating little more. I know my turtle she eats very little in winter. Thats another worry about reptiles. If you want to learn more check out reptiles for dummies. Very good at telling you what you need to do.

Holidays Holidays Holidays

Happy holidays everyone!

There many things going on with me, so if hear little of me, its because of that. This weekend will be most busy for sure, friday suppose to visit my aunt, saturday spend the night with friend from work, sunday go to lunch thing with people at my work. Find out who I get for secret santa.

When thats all over, have to realize how far behind I am on things, like presents, visiting people, and doing things for events and what not.

My to do list is driving me bit mad, other then that I doing very well.

Lately been pleased with my job, so all in that area is good. We are collecting stuff for the hope house and i will add few things to it, so thats new for this year.

My self I will do two baskets, one for animals shelter local, another for guy across the street. Feel pretty good about doing that, will not cute that from my list.

Next weekend, I have my cousins bday party to go to. Suppose to help out with that, maybe either make a cake or buy one for him, if i can. If not then make something else for it.

Hoping to visit before christmas my foster family, james dad, james cousin, my cousin(probably won’t happen)…. Christmas eve and christmas have no clue what we are doing, just know I don’t want to think about it…lol

I know want to see some lights somewhere this year, like always do. I know want hot chocolate, and cookies. Also know I want to watch christmas movies, well some. Thats all really.

Realize I have to still send out christmas cards, and get stamps for them. Also realized I am barely short of what I need for cards, so some people won’t get any, no xuan this does not count you, you are still safe. Also realize not sure I can get all the presents that remain. So little scared on that. Hopefully will be able to get everyone on my list something. even if its little small.

Cookies!!! want to make some if i can, but don’t want to make peanut butter kiss ones, always make those, want something different, but still cheap enough i can make few batches be alright.

Also like to go to church, christmas eve. Always liked doing that, hopefuly I can.

Decorating the apartment, decided not to. All I have is one stocking that looks like my bird evening star with her name on it, and one orment from last year, and I believe thats it. Not going to buy anything, just don’t have money to, just don’t feel like it right now.

So yeah, december is busy time. For me and most others.

What I’m thankful for

Thanksgiving, is not really about the food. Although its very big plus. Very good highlight I must admit.One of the best meals of the whole year… but thats not what its about. Its not about football, although there are a lot of people who say it is, its about friend/family, and how much you have to be thankful for. It probably means much more then this, but this is what I will take in of it.

Here is my thankful list this year…..

1. My husband, having him is one of the best things. He is very special to me, makes every day more fun.

2.Pets, they are so much fun, keep me company when others are not around.  They are funny, and clever.

3. My job, its nice to have co-workers who I actually like. Like me as well. Love to be able to learn things, and to see animals on day to day

4. Health, I know this one is always said. There were couple times this year I could have been injuried or sick very badly and was not. This is more then just luck, and I am thankful.

5. Friends and family, always say this every year, and it is as true as last year.

6. For my apartment, sure its bit small but it works. Thankful they have accepted my birds as pets.

All these things I am very thankful for. Happy to have them all. Happy thanksgiving to everyone!

Hello, This is Chip. He is 4yrs old, and is my second parrot I have. I write about Evening Star a lot, so its time for Chip to have a spot light for change.

Here is his story as I know it. Chip was the only bird at my work who boarded, he boarded because lady worked there before, I think. When I started to work, people found I knew about parrots, and enjoyed them, they had me be in charge of his care, I would make little noises, he liked. Get their early for work, just to give him some attention, so he would not be as crazy. Funny thing was he was kept in the Cat room. The woman he was with was nice, but she always complained about her husband not really liking him, what not. did not think much of it.

Was not until after couple times he stayed, that finally she came to me. Asking me to take Chip, because she knew I would care for him right. Give him good home, at this time I already fell in love with this little guy, I was the only who who figured out how to clean his cage not get bite, also figured out how to get him out to play with him.
So thought about it, had to take him in. The husband did not like him, she didn ot have much time for him, and chip was starting to get little bit much for them. Knew I had to take him in. So I did. Took him home, with very small cage. He was able to escape this cage which did not know until later, at first he would climb out to the top of his cage…. he was not to bad. Eveningstar however, found it odd at first, she just ignored him, but Chip had interest in her.

At the moment not much has changed between the two. They do not attack each other so thats good thing. Brought Chip big cage, which he is protective over. We went to the Vet, figured out he was underweight, so I have been working on fatting him up, think he looks little bigger now. Soon in few months will take him back to see if he had gained or not. Hopefully he has.

Now Chip also talks, he says “chips a brat”, “Shut Up” , “Wolf ” , ” step up” , and “shut up”,”Thank you”, also “stop it”. He can also laugh as well. He learned all his words before I knew him, trying to get him to learn “Love you”, or “Hi”. Now he has taught evening star, “Wolf”, “Thank you” and “stop it” so its kind of funny they talk to each other sometimes.

Chips favorite foods are pumkin seeds, toasted bread, and little bit of pancakes and mash potatos. These are all of course treats not his main food. He also has one favorite toy that he protects move of the time. He loves to give himself baths in big bowl of water, loves his UV light.

He also loves to be petted on the head, if you don’t do this every so often, he gets kind of upset.

Thats Chip. *smiles*

Weekend before Halloween

Sings, “This is Halloween, This is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween…”

Yes, Halloween is pretty much here, Yay!

Love Halloween! Did you know that? Something that is just to cool about, nothing but fun time.

Friday, did not little of anything.
Saturday, was one of the fun days for me and James.
We went to Trenton animal shelter for their halloween thing going on. Missed the volunteer meeting, because we got behind train that broke down, and also way to their road was blocked off to redue it. so yeah. Have to wait for next month if want to volunteer their.

Shelter seemed more organized then paws, more friendly. Even though people coming in and out like crazy. Hopefully many dogs and cats got adopted out.

James and I walked two dogs, first one was nice. Second one we really enjoyed the most, was bit skinny, needed to gain weight. This dog was in top cage, very small with no blankets, and only james could reach the top cages, so we picked one from up their to walk. Dogs name was Ruby, good dog. In fact even let me hold him like he was little puppy or something. They have trail you could walk them on but we did not do that because there were many people around, so we just walked the dog around shelter which had pretty good yard. It was nice to see other dogs getting walked, cats getting petted, people adopting, some getting their pet micro chipped, some getting schedule for spay/neuter which was all discounted for their pets at home.

What love most about this shelter is every animal who goes home is microchip , spay/neutered, heart worm tested, leakima tested, and update on all shots, some of the vets will give free first exam. which is pretty good for shelter.

Now James saw dog their that he wanted to walk that looked like wolf, almost. Thought it was some kind of neat looking husky mix. It was big dog, went over to ask about it, and it turned out to be wolf, who was about to get new home. So it was cool we got to see one so up close.

Right before we left got a Kroger card that will help, them get money for their shelter. Also do good search, instead of Google, help them get money that way as well. One of the ladies kept staring at behind the desk, she she started at me, was not until I was about to leave, that I said something to her. told her sorry for staring at her, but she looked familar to me and i was trying to figure out why, she said she was thinking the same thing…… was not until after exchanging places that I figured out she worked at Care center(emergency clinic, worked at before where work now) thats where knew her from, she was one of the main surgeons there. So it was neat to see her volunteering there. Only remembered her wearing funky head pieces for surgery. Thats why I remembered her so well. …………………………………. So that was pretty much my saturday.

Sunday, I went to Cincinnati Zoo with James, which was my surprised he gave me. We went the last day for their halloween thing and their cheetah encounter for the year. It was a lot of fun seeing polar bears with pumpkins, and of course elephants. Although barely got to see them because of all the people around. Did kind of get to see one put one in her mouth and juice came flying out.
Favorite part was going to new Discover forest area, there was Sloth, and always wanted to see one in person. Sloths so interesting and cute to me. This sloth was very active and was trying to reach out to people, so he could get down, because he is not suppose be down from his tree. He was two toed sloth, which is pretty cool. Ones I know the most about are the three toed ones. but they a lot alike though, however never touch one unless keeper says so, they have very sharp claws, even though they look cute, may want down, and are called a sloth, they can do damage without meaning to. Told others around me who seemed to be getting little to close.

Other thing wanted to say was a lot of primates are going endangered badly, in fact you could fit all 23 endangered primates in one football field or baseball field and that would be it. So they are in need of our help. One of them is Diana monkeys, which always went to see, because of my name. Hopefully some how they will bounce back.

That was pretty much my weekend. Now I have Wednesday to look forward to, maybe this weekend as well. Hope everyone has great Halloween.

colds, chili, chocolate!

So might wonder where went to? Well I’ve been sick most of this week.
Had sense infection, which was pretty nasty on Last Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. On Wednesday started to get little better, which went to work, and got little bit of chili, girl from work gave me, it was so yummy, and perfect. Made my throat feel so good. Oh, how love chili! There were couple other people at work sick, so I’m guessing got it from there.

Called off work on monday, was that sick. Sunday night did not sleep at all, was in pain for long time with my legs, and my head. Plus could not breath, and had fever. So did not sleep until 5:30 am, which my alarm for work went off at 6:30 am. So not much sleep for someone with fever and feeling like crap. So I called off. Felt bad, but had to.

Had temp of 99 to 101 back forth on Sunday, and Monday, on tuesday stayed at 99. Drank lots of fluids, was so thirsty, because my throat felt awful.

Was so happy when on Wednesday I felt little better. Everyone should have chili when sick.

Rest week went better, started to feel better. Did not do to much this week, mostly sleep, drink, and sleep. Complain of no chocolate.

On Saturday went to Aunt Janet’s house, which is almost every Saturday now days. Hung out with family there, which was nice. started to cough again, so hopefully I stay well. On the good side, brought myself some chocolate, and stuff to make good chilled cheese. So very happy now. Chocolate makes smiles.

Next week, james and I going to do something together, which very excited about, not sure what yet, james won’t tell me. Hopefully something fun. Also in Nov, have to parties to go to, can’t wait. Halloween is coming! Love halloween, will do something on Halloween, fun.
